Training & Regulation

Osteopaths undergo a lengthy study and training process lasting a minimum of four to five years. The course consists of anatomy, physiology, pathology, biomechanics and
clinical methods. Interpretation of clinical tests and imaging is also covered.

Qualified Osteopaths will have a Bsc or DO after their name and have to be registered with The General Osteopathic Council. Each year they are required to undergo continued professional development to keep them up to date with new practices and maintain their registration. This is something that we at Steyning Osteopathic Clinic feel very strongly about, both to ensure we are up to date and also to enhance our patient care. This regulation means patients have the same assurances as when they visit the doctor or dentist.
